Sin is an act that separates one from God. Being separated from God occurs when one willfully rejects God’s love, which is expressed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because the message cannot be rejected without also rejecting the messenger, sinning results in being in a state of evil on grounds of one’s rejection. When one willingly commits to cutting oneself off from God by being sinful or evil, the result is spiritual death.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
