Application. 5:12 – by helping us understand our identity anew. We are creatures of the one creator God. As such, we need to accept responsibility to care for the world God created for us and to join in God’s missionary purposes by blessing all nations and to live as faithful family members as God’s people. We should recognize our sin as rebellion against the good creator God. We should look to Him for grace and redemption. We should let Him lead us in ways of abandoning hatred and jealousy for His way is love. In faith, we should follow the ways of Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph. We should let the sovereign God rule our own history while we serve Him as His people. We should place our faith in Him and not other supposed rich resources such as our own abilities, intelligence or material goods. The Lord is not limited by any weakness, rival, or circumstance. Knowing Him will make us different from those around us who do not. It will make us different in how we relate to others who are also potentially His people too who were also created in His image. We should do nothing that damages them or hinders their relationship with God. We should be especially considerate of the disadvantaged, oppressed, and less fortunate. God reaches out to us in the world today. He speaks to us and is still looking for modern Abrahams, Noahs, Josephs, and even Jacobs who will respond to what He wants us to do though Him. It is God’s choice to work through other people. Each time we have a need, God will send someone into our lives to minister.
